Book Launch

This is the latest extract from the first draft of my book – I have many posts on here – A little background on this post. They are in a nightclub, Hannah is the main characters ex-girlfriend. Lexi is the girl he is falling for and she for him but she is also Hannah’s best friend)

I cant help but feel a little jealous. Even though I’m dancing with a hot girl I find myself keeping an eye on them as I dance with this girl. I start making out with this girl as Hannah and Lexi disappear into the crowd with the guys they are with. I take the girl I’m with into the toilets with me, we both hit a few lines of coke, and end up having shameless drug endorsed sex. It’s the first time I have done this since going through my darkness.

Going back out, I spot Ryan who’s also charged on coke. We make our way around the club, we see KC and Jackson talking to a group of girls. We carry on past them, Lisa and her friend have found their way to a couch still making out. Meeting up with Shaun and Amy, the four of us drink some more.

I see Hannah running through the club frantically looking for us, bobbing her head up at down – she finally spots us. Running over, panicked she tells us a group of guys are hassling Lexi outside.

As soon as I here this I charge outside. Still charged off the coke, I flip like a light switch, from happy to fighting mode. Parting the crowd like Moses parting the red sea everybody runs out behind me.

I see a group of 6 or 7 guys hassling Lexi. She is standing up for herself, giving as good as is she getting. Being instantly concerned for her, I jump in without a thought. Launching myself into them, swinging at anybody in sight. At first I try and take them all on my self. The rest of the group join in. I connect with a few punches, the whole group is fighting them including the girls. Even Lexi throws a few mean left hooks, connecting with one she knocks one of the guys out cold. Punches are getting thrown all over the place, blood is spurting around me some of it my own.

Realising they are worse for wear they start to run off. We chase them as we are all still charged, but they hobble into a car and drive off.

My pulse is racing the adrenaline has fully kicked in. I see Lexi as I turn round she gives me a hug, I ask her if she is ok, she nods her head, holding onto me tight. Nobody really pays attention to the hug, everybody just glad she is ok, but the hug means so much to me.

I think it’s good, it’s written in a sort of choppy way that I can’t really explain but it makes nice reading. It also reminds me of Trainspotting a bit.

Okay, so im doing a biography on David Livingstone..
this is what i have;;

David Livingstone was born on the 19th of March in 1813 in Blantyre Scotland.
From a young age David Livingstone had planned to become a Calvinist missionary. After finishing his education, David Livingstone was ready to preach the gospel of God to the earth. He had always wanted to do missionary work in China but he set off to Africa instead. There he succeeded in making some of the most spectacular discoveries of this day.
David was one of seven children of Neil and Agnes Livingstone, by the age of ten he started work in a cotton mill factory he helped with the family finances and he still managed to complete his studies.
In 1830 British churches put out a call for missionaries to go to China, David couldn’t resist the chance to go. So he studied for two years to receive an advanced degree.

Unfortunately, just as the team were about to embark to Asia, the trip was cancelled; China became embroiled in the Opium Wars.
David had spoken to Robert Moffat a South African missionary, not long after the cancellation of his trip. Mr. Moffat convinced David that his missionary services were needed in Africa. So not long after, in 1841 David landed in Cape Town South Africa.
Moffat was right about needing Livingstone’s help in Africa. As Livingstone devoted himself to his missionary work, he also became a vocal anti-slavery advocate. His rally against the slavery made him an enemy of the Boers and the Portuguese people.
David traveled from village to village and it introduced him to parts of southern Africa that had never been explored by other Europeans.
Livingstone made his way through to the Kalahari visiting places never known by others. He was recognized by his bravery and Mr. Livingstone became part of a team sent to explore Lake Ngami, their discoveries resulted in the presentation of a gold medal from the Royal Geographic Society.
In between his journeys, in 1844 David Livingstone married Mary. The eldest daughter of Robert Moffat to them the had 6 children. After marrying, Mary traveled by Livingstone’s side for seven years before he made Mary return to Britain with their kids.
From 1852-56 David had explored the African interior and was the first European to see the Mosioa-Tunya waterfall also known as ‘Victoria F Mosioa-Tunya alls’. He was also the first European to cross the entire width of southern part of Africa.
These discoveries made David Livingstone well known in England, he left Africa in 1856 to launch his book he wrote about his experiences, he also gave speeches as he traveled around England.
He went back to Africa In the year 1858 only to discover more things. He came across Lake Nyasa (1858) the Chilwa River (1859) and plenty other places. In March 1869 he reached Ujiji only to discover that there was no mail and that his supplies had been stolen. David was sick, depressed, and exhausted. In September he set out again witnessing horrific slave trades.
By this time Europe and America hadn’t heard from him and they thought that David was lost! So the Lon don Daily Telegraph and the New York Herald sent a man known as Henry Stanley to search for him. Stanley searched for a long time and then he happened to find David Livingstone in Ujiji he stayed with David for a while but unable to persuade Livingstone to return to England, Stanley reequipped him and departed.
On May the 1st 1873, David’s servants found him in his tent kneeling in prayer. He had died. His men buried his heart and his body was taken back to England.
On April 18, 1874, Livingstone was buried in great honor in London’s Westminster Abbey.

I got some cute black sequined flats with a big cute bow a few weeks ago and I’m wearing them to a book launch next week. I need cute, cool matches. I need unique and beautiful jewelry, too. (: Thanks. Easy 10 points best answer!

Throw on some skinny jeans with a black fitted shirt. Then spice it up with some bulky jewelry, or color popping. I’m not sure where you are from, but you can check Macy’s for jewelry and clothing, lots of good stuff there.

Ballet flats look really good with skinny jeans, or you could even put them with colored skinny jeans and just keep the accessories minimal, depends what kind of look your going for.

But I would recommend checking out Macy’s or other department stores, they usually have everything you could need. Hope I helped.

I am need the rocket launches from the rocket boys launches, i read the book but don’t have to time go back and find all the launches they did so if anyone could tell me that would be great.

Lexi–POV

After one hour of sitting I climbed up to my room and showered and sat in the balcony. I heard someone coming in and looked down to see Bee.

“Belle” I screamed shocked and staring at her smiling.
“What the are you doing here?” I looked at the clock behind me and it said 1.40am. I heard her saying something I turned back around to face her.
“Can you open the door?”
I laughed at her impatience and climbed down the stairs. In typical belle style I couldnt get a word out when she walked in but I was so happy that she was here.
“Well I got a text from Nate telling me that, nick was back in town and was heading to your mums book release and then I tried to warn you, but you werent picking up. So I figured might as well show up there and then your mum said you were gone so I came here.”

He was there and if I picked up my stupid phone things could be different now. But I guess thats life. I looked at belle

“I told him that we should stay away from each other”

She smiled slightly and I knew she would tell me the truth. Whether its harsh or not.

“Look he left you, and then randomly shows up. What did he except.” She was right typical. I looked at her and said something which I couldnt believe I said till it was already out in the open

“I still love him” She just looked at me. Not even shocked at what I said. was I that obvious.
“Well off course you do lex. But he doesnt deserve your love. Theres a difference there. And its better to let go now. Ill help you. Well burn his pictures, make hate facebook pages and send him death threats. Thats is what I am here for”

Did I say I mention I love her? Cause I so do. I just hugged her. And she hugged me. There with door open we were hugging. It looked weird to my mum when she walked in and again she had that concerned look in the eyes but she smiled.

“You guys are so cute” mum said.
Belle laughed and said “Im going to get a jumper from your room, nice to see you again Miss Adams”

My mum smiled and then I saw my dad standing there with food. Did I mention I was starving? It was so my family style that we start dinner at two in the morning. Liam walked in with a smile on his face. Then he said something to my dad who was laughing. I was just looking at my family and belle was climbing down the steps.

“Nate FINALLY” she screamed everyone looked at him. Holding a kebab and his phone. Thats so Nate. He just smiled and I laughed.

“So that was some book launch aye” He turned to my mum and said
“My mum and dad are gone home they said there really tired” My mum smiled
“No worries Nathanial. Come sit. Its time for dinner”
My dad laughed “In typical style we are having dinner two in the morning”

We all just smiled and made our way to living room to eat. Nate was telling belle about something that happened and I was nodding pretending to listen. I heard a knock at the door. Belle and Nate looked at me.
“Anymore surprises tonight.” Belle laughed and Nate just looked to the ground. Nate and Nick became best boys. I always thought about what would happen if nick came back. We share bestfriends which means my whole keep distance plan will automatically fail.

I walked to the door and to my shock/surprise it was two cop officers.
“Is Andrea Adams here?” I just looked at them and turned around to see everyone standing there.
“Mum” was all could say.
“Yes officers.” The officers walked up to her and were handcuffing her
“You are under arrest for bribery and fraud. You have a right to a lawyer. Stay silent anything you say can be used against in a court of law….”

My dad walked past me as my mum was taken away. He turned around and said
“Nate can you call your dad for me. Lexi call Mr Jonas.”

I stood there. Surprised.
