What are good public websites to post a new book launch on?

I want to announce a new book for someone. I posted the launch on Facebook as an event, but I was wondering if there are any good sites where I can post announcements of the new novel.

Missy, you’ve going to need to use extreme caution, since many, many sites would consider this spamming.

Facebook, Myspace, and other networking sites allow it, but it’s pretty hard to get your announcement noticed.
