In every culture, boys have had to go through a rite of passage to be considered a man. It was like you’re stepping into a new world and new things were expected of you. However, the feminists claimed that this rite of passage into manhood was an example of the oppressive patriarchy. It was teaching men to be the leaders of their families and the protectors of society and therefore, in the warped minds of feminists, it was teaching men to oppress women.
