IRVINE, Calif. November 13, 2008 – Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. announced today that World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, the second expansion for the world’s leading massively multiplayer online role-playing game, is now on sale in North America, Europe, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Russia. The expansion will be in stores beginning November 14 in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, and available on November 18 in Korea and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Details regarding the launch of Wrath of the Lich King in mainland China will be announced at a later date.

“Wrath of the Lich King contains some of the best content we’ve created for World of Warcraft,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We appreciate the valuable feedback from our beta testers and the continued enthusiasm and dedication of players around the world, and we look forward to seeing them in Northrend.”

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King sends players to the cold, forbidding continent of Northrend, where the malevolent Lich King Arthas Menethil seeks to bring an end to life on Azeroth. Players will fight Arthas’ undead army and unravel the mysteries of Northrend as they quest through new zones and dungeons, acquire potent new skills and abilities, engage in epic open-world player-vs.-player warfare with siege vehicles and destructible buildings, wield the runic power of World of Warcraft’s first Hero class — the death knight — and much more.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is now available at retailers on DVD-ROM for Windows XP/Vista and Macintosh at a suggested retail price of $39.99. A special Collector’s Edition of the expansion is also available at a suggested retail price of $69.99. This limited-edition package includes the expansion, The Art of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King hardcover book, an exclusive in-game pet, a behind-the-scenes DVD, two World of Warcraft Trading Card Game starter packs and two exclusive cards, a mouse pad featuring a map of Northrend, and the official World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King soundtrack CD.

On November 13, the official soundtrack will also be available for purchase and download on the iTunes stores (www.iTunes.com), with three exclusive tracks available only on iTunes.

The Wrath of the Lich King expansion requires the original World of Warcraft game, available for a suggested retail price of $19.99, along with World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, which sells for $29.99. These two products are combined in the World of Warcraft Battle Chest, available for $39.99. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King has received a Teen rating from the ESRB.

Limerick,Avril Webster “Off We Go “Book Launch, O’Mahony’s, Limerick

Avril Webster Off We Go
Little did Limerick based Avril Webster know when she created books at her kitchen table to help her disabled son Stephen cope with everyday activities, that they would lead to a publishing contract for a series of six books .in just over a year from those homemade versions, her first series is now published, with another six to follow in 2008.

Seeing the benefit Stephen was getting from the homemade books,Avril set about adapting them to be suitable for Stephen’s classmates .With the help of illustrator David Ryley ,whose close family friend Christia attends St.Vincent’s Special School ,Lisnagry with Avril’s son Stephen,Avril created the Going Swimming book. Things took off from there.
The Off We Go! Storybooks explain ‘what comes next ‘ on an everyday outing ,like going to the Dentist etc(simple everyday issues we take for granted but can be very stressful for someone who has child with a disability, society has improved but not to a degree of total acceptability as of yet) and therefore reassure the child and encourage cooperation in each situation .By reading the book together at home and preparing a child for a new task or event ,they can manage the stages more easily ,ultimately reducing stress for themselves and those around them.

Each book contains colourful illustrations and is 12 pages long, a length recommended by Speech and Language therapists. The simple text uses basic vocabulary which can be easily understood and with the pictures it will help give structure and routine to children of different ages and abilities.

Avril Webster lives in Limerick, Ireland, she and her husband Robert (an ardent Liverpool fan), have three children, their eldest son Stephen has a moderate to severe intellectual disability.Avril has been a full time — carer for Stephen since 1998, 24 x 7, I call it a fact that our current government need to recognise more because this nation has so many carers. Avril and her family have strived to give their son Stephen the best in life; they have already made a good start today for him and for so many others out there with a disability. We wish them well in the future, it’s a difficult road.

City of Heroes Going Rogue™, the first major expansion for the City of Heroes franchise since the launch of City of Villains® in 2005. As the name implies, Going Rogue will blur the line between heroes and villains in the first and longest-running super-powered comic book MMO game.
In the Going Rogue expansion, hero and villain characters will become immersed in the new parallel universe known as Praetoria, which is governed by Tyrant™, the evil incarnation of the games main protagonist, Statesman™. As gamers search for Tyrant and the rest of his Praetorian guard, implacable foes and fierce resistance will arise to face them from all sides, causing heroes and villains alike to question their loyalties.
City of Heroes Going Rogue will introduce a new alignment system that helps players explore the shades of gray that lie between good and evil. For the first time, hero characters can become villains and vice versa, enabling hero archetypes to cross over to the Rogue Isles™ and villain archetypes to experience Paragon City™. Clearly marked missions, in addition to behaviors and decisions made by the player, will move a heros or villains moral compass, which could eventually change the heros or villains alignment. Going Rogue will also introduce two primary new fictional characters representative of this alignment shift in the games lore: Maelstrom, a pistol-wielding hero gone rogue, and Desdemona, a demon-summoning villain who has been redeemed.
City of Heroes has brought a fresh new perspective to the MMO stage with its foray into the super-powered hero comic book genre, and we are excited to present gamers with even more innovative content in Going Rogue, said Brian Clayton, general manager and executive producer at Paragon Studios. For years, players could choose between playing as a hero or a villain. Now we will present a third, malleable path where players can be affected by the results of their actions, enabling them to further develop, unveil new perspectives, and overcome new challenges.
NCsoft will share more details on Going Rogue in the coming months. The game is currently in development by NCsofts Paragon Studios, the City of Heroes development team that most recently launched the ground-breaking Mission Architect system. The launch of Mission Architect sets a significant milestone for City of Heroes as the first MMO to allow players to create user-generated content. City of Heroes has and continues to set new standards among its MMO peers and player community with its engaging and approachable comic book-inspired universe theme and consistent delivery of concepts that break the standard MMO mold.
